Tikkun Ha-Ir of Milwaukee
Tikkun Ha-Ir of Milwaukee is a Jewish social justice and social action nonprofit organization focused on food justice, relief, education and civic engagement. As the Communications and Administration Associate, I worked to uplift programs within these initiatives, created new programs in line with the organization's values, collaborated with staff, volunteers, and community members, and co-led fundraisers, community events, and more.

Interview & Post for a Community Mission Mitzvah Project
"Thanks to Dara Carneol for submitting a request to our Mission Mitzvah fund! Dara has begun a composting project at Hannah's Kitchen.
Dara began volunteering with Tikkun Ha-Ir's Veggie Chop Shop, and this year she chose to do a Mission Mitzvah project setting up compost buckets at Hannah's Kitchen with funding from Tikkun Ha-Ir.
Every day after working at the kitchen, Dara takes the buckets in her trunk, drives them over to MJDS to dump them out, and drives back to Hannah's Kitchen to rinse and re-set them. She expresses that although it is a lot of work, the effort is worth it.

Association of Gleaning Organizations, Social Media Post
" Did you know that our nation wastes 20-40% of the food that is produced?
This past week, Tikkun Ha-Ir hosted the National Symposium for the Association of Gleaning Organizations.
These organizations from around the country are all involved in gleaning efforts in collecting and putting to use excess produce that would have otherwise have gone to waste.
Sami and Brandice have worked hard to host this national symposium and both spoke and hosted panels to share the work Tikkun Ha-Ir is doing in food justice.
